Welcome to Corinne Woodhams Studio—where young artists are inspired to explore, create, and express themselves!

I’m Corinne Woodhams, an expressive abstract artist and certified therapeutic art practitioner from West Virginia. As a professional artist, I’ve had the honor of sharing my work in local galleries, charity auctions, and with private collectors. Now, I’m thrilled to offer live art classes designed just for kids. Here, we dive into the world of color, creativity, and exploration, letting kids embrace the joy of creating something uniquely their own.

Your Artistic Journey Begins Here

Inspiring young artists through joyful exploration and creative play

Art for the Heart and Mind

Art has a special power to spark creativity, boost confidence, and allow kids to express their inner worlds. In each session, I focus on helping your child discover the fundamentals of art through hands-on projects that celebrate individuality. Together, we’ll explore techniques, learn color theory, and enjoy the process of art without worrying about perfection.

Art Classes Focused on Fun, Fundamentals, and Freedom

In our classes, young artists will experiment with high-quality materials, building skills and exploring techniques that will grow alongside them. My approach is rooted in love for the creative process, so your child will finish each session with beautiful artwork they’re proud of—and, even better, a deeper understanding of their own creative potential.

Discover the Difference

With a background as a therapeutic support specialist and years of experience working with children, I’ve seen the incredible benefits art brings to little minds and hearts. Art at Corinne Woodhams Studio is about more than just technique—it’s a space for each child to find their own voice and creative style, learning fundamentals they can carry with them in art and life.

Let’s Spark Creativity Together

Whether your child is discovering art for the first time or already loves to draw and paint, I’m excited to help them explore, grow, and create in a relaxed, supportive environment. Thank you for considering Corinne Woodhams Studio. I can’t wait to create alongside your child and see the joy that art brings to their world!

Frequently Asked Questions

What ages do you offer classes for?

Our art classes are tailored for children ages 2-10, divided into age-specific groups to ensure that each child receives age-appropriate guidance and support. Currently, we offer two age groups: Sprouts (ages 2-5) and Bloom Buddies (ages 6-8), with plans to expand for older kids soon!

How are your art classes structured?

Each class session is jam packed full of value and designed to explore foundational art skills while encouraging creative exploration. We meet once a week for a six-week program, with each session focused on process-based art, color, and self-expression. After each session, there’s a short break before the next six-week quarter begins.

What will my child learn in class?

Our classes emphasize art fundamentals like color, shape, and texture, but our main focus is on the joy of creating. Through various projects, your child will build confidence, develop fine motor skills, and grow their unique creative voice. We’re more about the process than the product, helping young artists learn in a fun, pressure-free environment.

Can art classes be gifted?

Absolutely! Our classes make a fantastic experience-based gift for the holidays or birthdays. Art classes encourage creativity, social interaction, and skill-building, making them a meaningful, toy-free option that children can enjoy beyond the holidays.

Are refunds available?

While I take great care in providing a value-packed experience for you and your child, I do not offer refunds. Due to the nature of the class and the preparation involved, once you sign up, materials are purchased specifically for your child to ensure a fun and personalized art experience. I want to make sure your child has everything they need to succeed, and I’m excited to see their creative journey unfold! Thank you for understanding.

Do I need to provide any art supplies?

Nope! All supplies are provided by Corinne Woodhams Studio. We use high-quality art materials to give your child an authentic and inspiring art experience. Each enrollment fee includes all materials and instruction, so all you have to bring is your child’s creativity and enthusiasm!

What types of art projects will my child work on?

Our projects range from painting to collage and color exploration. Each project is carefully designed to be engaging and age-appropriate, allowing your child to explore different mediums and techniques while creating artwork they’re proud to share.

Are spaces limited?

Yes, to ensure each child receives quality guidance, we keep class sizes small and intimate. Seats fill up quickly, so we encourage early registration to secure your child’s spot in the upcoming session.

What is your teaching style?

My approach is grounded in the principles of self-expression, joyful exploration, and the love of creating. With a foundation in Charlotte Mason-based education, I believe in offering a rich "feast" of creative experiences, allowing each child to explore what most captures their interest and imagination. My classes are relaxed, process-focused, and encourage every child to discover and embrace their unique style. Our goal is to introduce foundational art skills while letting their natural creativity shine, empowering them to take what they need from each experience to deepen their own creative journey.

What are the lasting benefits of these classes?

Art offers a wide range of benefits that extend beyond just making beautiful pictures. In our art classes, your child will develop skills that last a lifetime while having fun in the process!

Improved Fine Motor Skills: Through activities like drawing, painting, and using tools, children develop better hand-eye coordination and dexterity, which are essential for tasks like writing and everyday activities.

Increased Confidence: As your child explores different art forms and creates their own work, they build a sense of pride and accomplishment. Each completed piece is a reflection of their hard work and creativity, boosting their self-esteem.

Emotional Expression: Art is a safe space for children to express their emotions and thoughts, whether they’re happy, frustrated, or curious. By learning to use colors, shapes, and textures, kids can communicate in ways words sometimes can't, helping them manage their feelings and understand themselves better. Helping to gain emotional intelligence.

Enhanced Creativity: Our art classes encourage open-ended exploration, helping kids develop their imagination and think outside the box. The skills they learn in these classes can be applied to problem-solving in all areas of life, not just art.

A Lasting Skill: Art isn’t just something your child will enjoy in the moment; it’s a skill they can build on throughout their life. The fundamentals of art—such as color theory, composition, and perspective—are building blocks for all creative pursuits, whether they continue with art, design, architecture, or simply appreciate it throughout their lives.

A Screen-Free Activity: In a world where kids are often glued to screens, our art classes offer a much-needed break. Art promotes focus, mindfulness, and hands-on engagement, giving children a chance to disconnect from screens and reconnect with their imagination. This screen-free time is essential for their mental well-being and overall development.

Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Art encourages children to think critically as they make decisions about colors, shapes, and techniques. They learn to approach challenges in a creative way and find solutions independently—skills they will carry with them in all aspects of their life.

Social Skills and Collaboration: In our group setting, children not only work on their individual pieces but also interact with others, learning valuable social skills. They gain confidence in expressing their ideas, listening to others, and working collaboratively on group projects.

In today’s fast-paced world, where everything is constantly moving and changing, we believe it’s important to slow down and focus on the process of creating. This practice not only allows kids to express themselves and have fun but also helps them build valuable skills that will stay with them forever.
